Your Wedding Day is one of those pillar moments in your life. A Day always looked forward to by every girl and lady alike. A Day always remembered and celebrated once a year to commemorate a special bond between 2 individuals. However planning this extraordinary day takes months of planning and could be one of the most stressful times trying to create a perfect day.
There are so many options that lay ahead of you, so much that needs to be done. You have to ask yourself "Where do I start?"
Well that is what we will help you with today.
I believe the first step to a successful wedding is planning your budget and distinctly defining not only how much you would like to put into this special day but also how much you are able to afford, just remember that at certain stages of the planning process you may need to re-evaluate this figure., but try to stick to it not to over extend yourself.
Once this has been decided your second step is to choose a venue, your venue has to be chosen to suit what kind of wedding you want, how many guests will you invite, your budget and most importantly when you want to get married.
Choosing a venue that is well known and has a great reputation that offers alot in terms of wedding facility as well as the reception can take alot off your shoulders in terms of stress and financial pressure.
The next step in your planning process is to decide the style of wedding you want, a style that will big the identity of your wedding that will flow from your invitations right through to your reception table decorations. You need to remember that this style needs to reflect who you are and not who you want people and trends to see you as. This is a day that needs to stand out and be remembered for a long time.
You then need to start thinking about what services you want at your wedding and think how important each are. Services like the Dress Maker, Florist, Décor Designers, DJ, Wedding Photographer, Pastor, Caterer etc.
From past experience I would definitely recommend not choosing a family member or friend to take any of these responsibilities. This would be a bad choice for one of 2 reasons, firstly that family member of friend would also like to enjoy and share the day with you and the second reason is it usually does not meet the standard of service or skill that a third party that is paid would offer. Remember that these are people that could and will determine how your day turns out so be certain that who you choose you are totally happy with. Be certain to take especially the photographer as well as the DJ to the venue prior to the day and make sure that they are available for the wedding rehearsal.
Our Next step to this special day is to sort out your invitations, you need to send these out as soon as possible. The Sooner the better especially if you inviting people from out of town. It is extremely important that put a RSVP Date onto your invitations so that you have a clear indication of you guests. With technology now it is much easier to get electronic RSVP's for example with Outlook, Facebook Events and so fourth. Another Edition to your Invitation should be your gift registry details.
Be sure that anyone that is going to be involved in this special day has been properly briefed and given a written brief of what there requirements are.
On another note, do not keep any surprises from your service providers especially your photographer they need to know what is happening all the time.
Never turn down an offer to help, let everyone help you with your special day and share the load but just remember one thing, you are the coordinator so do not let other peoples advice and suggestions change the way you look at your day. This is your Day!!
Make sure that you do not leave things for the 12th Hour, plan ahead so that you are able to have a great day that you and your spouse will cherish forever.
Lastly Just remember it takes months, even years for some to plan their wedding but it will take the rest of your life to make it work. Live everyday for each other and live life to the fullest and most of all trust in God and he will be your Rock!
